Pursuing a Passion – Realizing a Dream. Original art by local artists. Paintings, sculpture, blown glass, & more.

Jim’s mother recognized his talents and always made sure that he had drawing materials when he was growing up in Texas. The family moved around quite a lot during Jim’s early years but finally settled in the Beaumont area of Texas where he completed his education with a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Fine Arts at Lamar University, and paradoxically began a 33 year career with the oil industry. Upon retirement Jim and his husband, Clay Bradley, moved to Saint Petersburg, Florida where Jim was finally able to pursue his lifelong passion of creating art as more than just a sideline or hobby.

After working out of a small studio space in the Warehouse Arts District for two years, in November of 2015 Jim was able to open Woodfield Fine Art Gallery in St. Pete’s Grand Central District. He maintains a small studio in the back of the gallery where he continues to produce portraits and other works of art.

Jim’s art offers a diverse array of styles which gives a glimpse of the range of his imagination. His portraits capture people in every day life. Rarely employing models, he works mostly from snapshots of ordinary people, family, friends, and acquaintances in their regular environments. His other works include landscapes, still life paintings, and abstracts. He also creates sculpture in wood and found objects, and has even designed homes. His art hangs in homes and businesses in Florida, Colorado, Texas, California, North Carolina, Ohio, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, and New York.
