In the fall of 2017 Kouffman will teach two workshops at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center. She previously taught private workshops in Aventura and in the Master Artist Workshop program at the Armory Arts Center in West Palm Beach, where she participated in three shows: The Master Artist Workshop Exhibition, Affaire d’Arte and Take Home a Nude. She also executed three commissions in Fort Lauderdale: a 6’ x 8’ ceiling panel, as well as two 7’ x 7’ standing art screens, both presently displayed in Belfast, Maine. Kouffman recently completed two major commissions for patrons in Florida and Missouri for a family homestead in Eustis, Florida. In 2017 she was awarded 1st Place in Oil/Acrylic at the MasterWorks of New Mexico Exhibition in Albuquerque and in 2015 she won 3rd Prize at MasterWorks. She has also won prizes at annual juried shows at the Hubbard Museum of the American West, the Masterworks of New Mexico Exhibition, the Rio Grande Art Association Encantada Show, the Pastel Society of New Mexico National Show, and the Pastel Society of America Show in New York City, where she was elected a Master Pastellist. She is a Signature Member of Plein Air Painters of New Mexico and the Pastel Society of New Mexico.
Kouffman has shown her work in more than two hundred juried and invitational shows around the country. She has presented twelve solo shows, including museum solos at the Las Cruces (NM) Museum of Art, The Wichita Art Museum, the Hutchinson (KS) Art Center and the Juneau-Douglas City Museum.
Kouffman’s work appears in several books, including Acrylic Innovation: Styles & Techniques by 64 Visionary Artists, written by Nancy Reyner and published by North Light Books. Her work also appears in The Artist and the American Landscape by John Driscoll and Arnold Skolnick, Painting Alaska by Kes Woodward, and Messages from Alaska, published by the M. J. Murdock Foundation.
Kouffman’s work has been covered in the Santa Fe New Mexican, Pasatiempo, Cowboys & Indians, Albuquerque Journal Arts, Albuquerque Journal, Santa Fe Reporter, and many other publications. Kouffman’s paintings hang in more than 20 states around the country. She has taught painting workshops in many scenic locations: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and the Yukon. She also taught acrylic and pastel classes at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, Connecticut for 11 years and at Santa Fe Community College Continuing Education for 14 years.
